Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how MAEDN AG, Gotthardstrasse 26, 6300 Zug, Switzerland ("MAEDN", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the website maedn.ch (the "Website") and what choices you have. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit it. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, to remember preferences and to provide reporting information to website operators. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels and SDK identifiers; in this Policy we refer to all of them collectively as "cookies".
2. Who sets the cookies?
Cookies set directly by MAEDN through the Website are first-party cookies. Cookies set by a third-party service provider (e.g. an analytics or content-delivery provider) are third-party cookies. We use third-party cookies only after you have given the corresponding consent through the cookie banner.
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential to operate the Website and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, filling out the contact form or detecting abusive traffic. Typical examples: session identifier, cookie-consent state, security/CSRF tokens, load balancing.
3.2 Preferences
These cookies allow the Website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features (e.g. language preference EN/DE).
3.3 Analytics
Where you have given your consent, we may use analytics cookies to understand how Visitors interact with the Website (pages visited, time spent, navigation paths). The information collected is used to compile aggregated, statistical reports to improve the Website. Where possible, IP addresses are truncated and identifiers are hashed.
3.4 Marketing
Where you have given your consent, marketing cookies may be used to deliver content that is relevant to your interests, to limit the number of times you see an item and to measure the effectiveness of campaigns. We do not currently run advertising campaigns targeting individuals.
4. Your choices
On your first visit, you can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences in the cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Most browsers also allow you to view, manage, delete and block cookies. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Website.
5. Retention
The retention period of each cookie depends on its purpose. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for the period set by us or our service providers, typically between a few days and 24 months. Consent records are kept as required to evidence your choice (typically 12–24 months).
6. International transfers
Some of our cookie service providers may process data outside Switzerland and the EEA. In such cases we apply the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The current version is always available on the Website with the corresponding "last updated" date.
8. Contact
If you have questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at info@maedn.ch.
